Chokeberry is a perennial fruiting culture originating in East Asia (Mongolia). The fruits of aronia during the vegetation are green, and with ripening they get a blushing red color, for full maturity to become black. They have a round shape in the shape of a berry, grouped in a 10 to 20 fetus. Depending on the variety and the breeding technology, the fruits reach a size of 6 to 10 mm. According to the way the fruit is formed from aronia, they belong to the group of apple fruit and according to their appearance and hardness they can be grouped in strawberry or petticoat.
Aronia is a culture that can not be more resistant to climate and soil conditions. It adapts to dry and humid climates, but results better in areas with more moderate humidity in the soil and air. Over the winter, the above-ground part has temperatures lower than -30 to -35 ° C, and the root system can be damaged at -11 to -12 ° C
